老家河南——郑州篇 Hometown Henan —— Chapter of Zhengzhou——嵩山少林寺（Shaolin Temple of Songshan Mountain）
Shaolin Temple, located in Dengfeng, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, is named “Shaolin Temple”, because it is seated in dense jungle of Shaoshi Mountain of Songshan Mountain. It is not only the birthplace of Zen Buddhism and Chinese kung fu, but also a world cultural heritage, a national key cultural relic protection unit, and a national 5A tourist attraction.
The architectural style of Shaolin Temple integrates the characteristics of multiple historical periods. The main buildings include Heavenly King Hall, the Great Buddha’s Hall, Thousand Buddha Hall, Tallinn, etc. The overall layout is orderly and reasonable, and the environment is quiet and beautiful, which is deeply loved by tourists at home and abroad.
Shaolin Wushu, as a outstanding symbol of Shaolin Temple, is famous for its strong, simple, swift and changeable moves, and is one of the important schools of Chinese martial arts. Nowadays, Shaolin Wushu has become an important channel of Chinese culture exchange with other countries.
Shaolin Temple, with a long history, splendid architecture, exquisite martial arts, profound cultural deposits, has made a profound impact and outstanding contributions in religion, culture, art and other fields. It is the Chinese cultural treasure and a bright pearl in the world cultural heritage.
少林寺，位于河南省郑州市登封市境内，因坐落于嵩山腹地少室山茂密丛林之中，故名 “少林寺”。它不仅是禅宗及中国功夫的发祥地，更是世界文化遗产、全国重点文物保护单位、国家5A级旅游景区。
